Chance the Rapper's non-profit SocialWorks hosted a charity night at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry on Thursday.

Footage shows the rapper announcing a donation of $100,000 (€90,000) to a high school, as gymnastics, dancers and singers performed in the museum.

"A Chicago charity aiming to empower the youth through arts, education and civic engagement," this is how Chance described his organisation.

It cost $10 (€9) for a ticket, and encouraged attendees to bring donations for the homeless, including sleeping bags or coats. According to local media reports, last year saw 10,000 items collected for 15 shelters.

Chance also announced the release of "the first ever mental wellness guidebook," containing a list of both clinical and non-clinical service providers.
