This workshop takes you through the process of how nwPlus designed and executed their marketing strategy for the year. nwPlus is the club behind nwHacks, Western Canada’s largest hacakthon, UBC Local Hack Day, the largest LHD in North America, and cmd-f, Vancouver’s first all-female* hackathon. Learn how to design a marketing strategy for your event, reach your target audience and the tech community outside your campus, efficiently run a marketing team, make event day social media easier to execute, and create an online presence to use in your sponsorship package. I’ll also share stats on how having a marketing strategy in place has made a huge increase in application quality and diversity, attendance rates, and first time hacker acceptances.
